What I love about writing plays (particularly) is that they are living things, ultimately a collaboration of different talents coming together. Each person involved brings something unique to the play, sometimes seeing things you didn’t notice as you are so close to it. The Igbo and Yoruba proverb, famously adopted by Hilary Clinton, states “It takes a village to raise a child”, well I sometimes feel “It takes a creative community to raise a good play” before the final print. My latest short script has its first breath of life tonight, thanks to actors and producers, in London’s West End.
